The website boredpanda.com conducted interviews with people who had successfully lost weight - and the users revealed which easy tips had benefited them. Here are some of the best:
1. Don't make food become a devil.
It isn't a question of good and bad foods. Try to include a variety of fruits and vegetables in your daily routine, but if you really want a donut and it fits into your daily calorie budget, go ahead and eat it. Foods should not be vilified. Learn about vitamins and minerals, drink plenty of water, and get some exercise.
2. Don't eat on the couch.
Who hasn't experienced it: sitting on the couch in the evening, watching a thrilling film while reaching for chips or popcorn. All food must be kept away from the couch! Instead, eat at the table and present your food in a pleasing manner on a dish. This made it easier for me to eat more mindfully and enjoyably, as well as to listen to my hunger signals and quit eating.
3. Forget about elevators and escalators.
Keep your distance from escalators and elevators. I was always the one who took the stairs! I used to work on the sixth floor when I initially started losing weight. I had to leave for work earlier than normal simply to be able to walk the stairs in quiet and avoid sweating terribly at the top. In the first eight months, I shed 20 pounds and now ran a half marathon several times a year.
4. Participate in only the sports that you prefer.
If you despise going to the gym, don't force yourself to go. Instead, discover an activity that you enjoy. I stopped going to the gym, and it has made a huge impact in my motivation! Hiking, bicycling, yoga, swimming, and kayaking helped me lose 15 pounds by simply doing what I enjoy.
Now I love to exercise and can't wait for my next workout because it doesn't feel like a workout at all.
5. don't drink soda Forget about the lemonade - this is serious! After drinking a can virtually every meal at one point, I determined to do something about it. I had lost five pounds in the first two weeks! And I'd lost interest in it as well. That was years ago, and sodas and other sweetened beverages have since become too sweet for me. 6. Invest in smaller plates Purchase plates that are smaller in size. You'll be able to eat fewer portions as a result of this. Many people find it difficult to load smaller servings on large plates voluntarily, but a smaller plate looks fuller with the same portion. This has a powerful psychological effect: you still ate everything on your plate, but you ate less than usual.
7. Have patience Patience is regarded as a virtue for good reason. Losing weight, especially a significant amount of weight, takes time, which you should allow for. I shed a good 30 pounds, but it took me 16 months and I had to consistently work on myself. It was always no more than 500 grams every week. 8. Consult your pals Keep your distance from friends who are attempting to derail your plans. If you've been losing weight for a long time and have reached around 90 kg, and your putative friends say you're getting too thin, they're not trying to help you.
9. Give yourself permission to fail Accept the fact that you will fail from time to time. It took me two years to get serious about losing weight and losing 55 pounds. I still have 25 kilograms to go, and it took me a few months to get back into working out consistently. Making mistakes is a necessary element of progressing; the process is not linear. 10. Adhere to the 70% rule At first, only consume 70% of your meal. Then take a break, say, by chatting with your tablemate while sipping water. You'll notice that your hunger fades as you realize you're already full. Of course, this does not imply that you should discard the leftover food! Simply save the leftovers in the fridge and consume them later.
